ECMWF has been designated as the Lead Centre for Wave Forecast Verification (LC-WFV) by the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) Commission for Basic Systems (CBS-2016)

• The project is in the development phase,  preliminary production archiving and verification has started.
  
  • Information has been gathered in order to establish the data format and file name convention for the project.
  • The current project progress overview can be seen in the Progress status page.
    • Regular data acquisition from two stakeholders has started. Production archiving and verification is in progress. The first model intercomparison plots will be made available soon.
• All Centres participating in the current Wave Forecast Verification Project managed by Jean Bidlot for JCOMM have been invited to contribute. Other Centres are welcome to join the project.
