The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) Commission for Basic Systems (CBS-2016) recommended to establish a Lead Centre for Wave Forecast Verification (LC-WFV) and to designate ECMWF as this Lead Centre.

• Currently we are gathering information which will help us to establish the data format and the file name convention for the data exchange in the context of the activities of the project.

• The institutes  participating in the current Wave Forecast Verification Project maintained by Jean Bidlot for JCOMM have been mainly invited but other Centres are welcome to join the project.
