Scope

The ECMWF SFTP service provides data portal (aux.ecmwf.int; SFTP/FTP/HTTPS data access) provides access to real-time daily and hourly data from the CAMS Global Fire Assimilation System (GFAS). Daily data are GFAS version 1.2 and hourly data are GFAS version 1.4.1.

To get access to CAMS GFAS data, you need a user accounts on the ECMWF website, and on the ECMWF SFTP servicedata portal.

1. Log on to Atmosphere Data Store (ADS)(ECMWF login required - If you do not have an account create one)
2. Download a small data sample of the CAMS global biomass burning emissions based on fire radiative power (GFAS) using the ADS web interface (CAMS GFAS data download form) - you will need to accept the data licence.
3. Contact us by creating a ticket through the ECMWF Support Portal, providing 
   1. the user name you used to log in to download the CAMS data sample.
   2. confirmation that you accepted the dataset licence and successfully downloaded a small data sample.
   3. for our service planning, a brief description of how you intend to use the data, and which chemical species are most relevant for you
